Sometimes you need a girl, to get the girl.
About
Danny Maccabee is a successful plastic surgeon who has spent years perfecting a foolproof system for dating: he pretends to be unhappily married to avoid any real emotional commitment or long-term expectations. This strategy works flawlessly until he meets Palmer, a vibrant younger schoolteacher who appears to be his perfect match. When Palmer discovers Danny's fake wedding ring and assumes he is cheating on a spouse, Danny is forced to construct a frantic cover story. He recruits his loyal and long-suffering office manager, Katherine, to pose as his soon-to-be ex-wife to validate his deception. As the situation spirals out of control, one lie inevitably leads to another, eventually forcing Katherine’s own children into the charade. The tangled web of fabrication grows so complex that the entire group decides to embark on a spontaneous getaway to Hawaii. Set against the sun-drenched backdrop of a tropical paradise, the trip serves as the ultimate test of their charade. As personalities clash and the lines between truth and performance begin to blur, Danny, Katherine, and their entourage find themselves caught in a series of comedic misunderstandings that threaten to upend their carefully constructed worlds. What began as a simple attempt to salvage a romance quickly transforms into a transformative experience, forcing everyone involved to confront their true feelings and reconsider what they are actually looking for in life and love.
