Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
About
In the wake of King Richard the Lionheart’s death in France, a battle-hardened archer named Robin Longstride finds himself navigating the treacherous political landscape of a fractured England. After a chance encounter with a mortally wounded knight named Robert of Loxley, Robin fulfills a final, solemn vow to return the man’s sword to his grieving father in the village of Nottingham. Upon his arrival, he is swept into the complex local dynamics of a town suffering under the weight of crushing taxes and corrupt governance. To protect the vulnerable villagers and secure his own survival, Robin adopts the identity of the fallen knight, inadvertently forging a complicated bond with Loxley’s widow, Marion, who is skeptical of the stranger now living in her home. As Robin struggles to keep his true origins hidden, he becomes an unlikely symbol of defiance against the encroaching tyranny of the crown. The atmosphere in Nottingham grows increasingly volatile as King John’s ruthless henchman, Godfrey, orchestrates a campaign of sabotage and betrayal that threatens to dismantle the kingdom from within. Caught between the pressures of a crumbling aristocracy and the desperate plight of the common people, Robin must evolve from a disillusioned soldier into a beacon of hope, facing down powerful adversaries who seek to enforce their will through violence and deception. The stage is set for a turbulent struggle for justice where loyalty is tested and the foundations of a legend are quietly, bloodily built.
