About
When Ben and Louise Dalton meet a charismatic British couple named Paddy and Ciara while vacationing in Italy, they are immediately struck by their new friends’ outgoing and free-spirited nature. Upon receiving an unexpected invitation to visit the couple’s isolated country estate for a weekend getaway, the Daltons view it as an opportunity to escape their mundane routines and reconnect with people who seem to embrace life with a boldness they lack. However, the initial charm and hospitality of their hosts slowly begin to erode as the visitors settle into the rural property. What starts as a series of minor, easily dismissed social awkwardnesses gradually gives way to a pervasive sense of unease as the lines of politeness and boundaries become increasingly blurred. The Daltons find themselves trapped in an escalating environment of psychological manipulation and social pressure, struggling to reconcile their desire to be gracious houseguests with the growing instinct that something deeply disturbing is happening under the surface of the idyllic estate. As the isolation of the countryside cuts them off from the outside world, the family must navigate a treacherous web of unspoken tensions and sinister intentions, transforming their dream vacation into a terrifying test of their sanity, safety, and resolve.
