In the sleepy suburbs of Seattle, three high school students—the withdrawn and troubled Andrew, his charismatic cousin Matt, and the popular Steve—stumble upon a mysterious subterranean object that fundamentally alters their lives. Upon making contact with the artifact, the trio suddenly awakens to find they possess telekinetic abilities that rapidly grow in intensity. Initially, the boys treat their newfound gifts as a source of wonder and adolescent escapism, using their powers to play pranks and test the limits of their physical boundaries. However, the intoxicating allure of these superhuman skills soon begins to fracture their bond. As Andrew struggles with a volatile home life and deep-seated social alienation, the immense burden of his shifting personality begins to clash with the moral compass of his peers. The film captures the descent from typical teenage uncertainty into a dangerous confrontation where personal demons and raw, unchecked power collide, forcing the trio to grapple with the terrifying question of what happens when human nature is given the means to play god.
