As it turns out, Ford is not merely a travel writer but an extraterrestrial researcher currently revising the definitive cosmic guidebook, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Thrust into a chaotic universe he never knew existed, Arthur finds himself adrift among the stars, navigating a reality populated by eccentric aliens, bureaucratic vogons, and two-headed galactic presidents. Alongside a brilliant but cynical fellow human named Trillian, a paranoid android, and an obsessive alien guide, Arthur must quickly discard his terrestrial sensibilities to survive an increasingly absurd series of interstellar mishaps. The group embarks on a frantic, galaxy-spanning journey, constantly pursued by galactic authorities and caught in the middle of cosmic mysteries that threaten to unravel the fabric of space and time. Armed only with a digital encyclopedia and a heavy dose of bewilderment, Arthur must adapt to the bizarre whims of the universe as he searches for meaning, or at least a decent cup of tea, in an infinite and often nonsensical void.
