Zak is a young man with Down syndrome living in a state-run retirement home, where he feels trapped and stifled by the limited expectations placed upon him. Driven by a singular obsession with the world of professional wrestling and a deep admiration for an idol known as the Salt Water Redneck, Zak decides to make a daring escape to pursue his dreams. Along his journey, he encounters Tyler, a gruff and desperate crab fisherman who is currently on the run from his own past mistakes. Bound by circumstance, the two unlikely companions form an unexpected bond as they traverse the lush, sun-drenched landscapes of the North Carolina Outer Banks. Together, they navigate the waterways and open roads, facing personal struggles and external pressures while attempting to reach a legendary wrestling school.
