Mike Howell is an unmotivated, perpetually stoned convenience store clerk living a quiet, unremarkable existence in the sleepy town of Liman, West Virginia. His primary focus is his girlfriend, Phoebe, the one bright spot in his monotonous world, and his dreams of becoming a graphic novelist. However, Mike’s peaceful life is shattered when he is approached by a mysterious stranger who utters a series of cryptic phrases that trigger a latent, dormant part of his psyche. Suddenly, the seemingly inept slacker discovers that he possesses an array of highly specialized combat skills, reflexes, and tactical knowledge that he has no memory of ever acquiring.
