Innocent, until betrayed.
About
In 1860s America during the Civil War, The Beguiled follows a group of young women at an isolated Southern girls’ boarding school whose quiet routines are disrupted when they discover an injured enemy soldier near their property. With the household still governed by strict rules of propriety, the girls decide to bring him inside and nurse him back to health, turning their sheltered world into a place of constant vigilance and emotional strain. As the soldier’s presence intensifies uncertainty and fascination, the tensions between students begin to shift, reshaping friendships and testing loyalty. What starts as an act of care gradually gives way to escalating desire, power struggles, and taboo impulses, until the school’s fragile sense of order is overwhelmed by rivalries and the dangerous consequences of crossing lines no one thought they would.
