In 2010, the normally sprawling, sunlit sprawl of Los Angeles becomes the epicenter of a terrifying global crisis when strange lights streak across the sky and contact seems to come from nowhere. Drawn by an irresistible pull, residents step outside at the worst possible moment, only to find that something vast and otherworldly is actively targeting humanity. As neighborhoods darken, communications fail, and familiar landmarks give way to escalating chaos, the city’s residents are forced to improvise, band together, and fight through a landscape that feels increasingly unrecognizable.
