Creature of the Pines is a found footage horror movie set in the legendary New Jersey Pine Barrens, a remote patch of wilderness where old stories feel less like folklore and more like warnings. When a small group of investigators and longtime outdoors enthusiasts set out to document reports of strange lights, unnatural movements through the underbrush, and sudden disappearances from people who never returned, they bring cameras, recording gear, and a healthy mix of skepticism and bravado. As they travel deeper into the pines and follow trails that no map seems to explain, the footage begins to capture something that doesn’t match the terrain or the physics of the place, forcing the group to question what they’re truly hearing, seeing, and filming. With the isolation pressing in and every signal, sound, and shadow growing more threatening, the woods become an escalating trap—one where the only record of what’s happening may be the recordings they manage to keep rolling.
