About
In the gritty urban landscape of New York City, police detective John Shaft finds his moral compass tested when he arrests the arrogant Walter Wade Jr. for a brutal, racially motivated murder. Although Shaft secures the arrest, the case quickly unravels as the primary eyewitness vanishes and Wade manages to flee the country for Switzerland to avoid trial. Two years later, Wade returns to the city with renewed confidence, relying on his immense wealth, deep-seated influence, and high-priced legal team to ensure an acquittal. Shaft remains steadfast in his pursuit of justice, but he soon discovers that Wade has been working behind the scenes with a ruthless drug kingpin to ensure the key witness never takes the stand. Caught between a corrupt system and the dangerous underworld of the city, Shaft must navigate a web of bribery and intimidation to keep the witness alive and bring a privileged killer to justice. As the tension mounts, Shaft must decide just how far he is willing to go to hold a powerful man accountable in a city where money often dictates the rule of law.
