The worst of them will stay with you... forever.
About
Set against the backdrop of a sprawling, rural South Korean province in the late 1980s, the film follows a grim investigation into a string of brutal murders targeting young women. As the local police force struggles to contain the rising tide of fear, they are joined by an ambitious detective from the capital city who utilizes modern forensic techniques that clash violently with the crude, intuition-based methods of the provincial officers. Together, these three men form an uneasy alliance, their disparate personalities and moral frameworks constantly threatening to fracture the investigation. As the killer remains elusive, taunting the authorities by striking only on rainy nights, the detectives find themselves consumed by a shared obsession that pushes them to the very edges of their professional and personal sanity. The narrative captures the stifling atmosphere of a community under siege and the mounting frustration of investigators who are constantly haunted by their own inability to decipher the twisted logic of a predator who leaves no trace behind. It is a tense, character-driven examination of the desperation that takes hold when the pursuit of justice begins to exact an impossible cost on those tasked with upholding the law.
