Freshman year is no fairytale
About
College freshman Sydney White arrives at Southern Atlantic University with high hopes of following in her late mother’s footsteps by pledging the prestigious Kappa Phi Nu sorority. However, she quickly discovers that the organization has evolved into a shallow, exclusionary regime under the cruel leadership of Rachel Witchburn. After refusing to conform to the sorority's superficial demands, Sydney is unceremoniously expelled from the house and left to fend for herself on campus. She ultimately finds refuge in a dilapidated, condemned residence known as the Vortex, which serves as the home to seven socially awkward outcasts who have spent their academic careers being ignored or ridiculed by the university elite. Upon realizing that the campus social hierarchy is built on prejudice and vanity, Sydney decides to spearhead a revolution. She rallies her new companions to challenge the existing power structures, aiming to dismantle the reign of the popular clique and advocate for the rights of every student, regardless of their social standing. As the group navigates the treacherous waters of collegiate politics, they must learn to embrace their unique identities while working together to prove that intelligence and authenticity are more valuable than popularity. This modern retelling explores the themes of transformation and friendship, pitting a determined underdog against a system designed to keep her kind at the bottom.
