About
David Spritz is a recognizable face in Chicago, serving as the daily weather anchor for a major television station, yet his life behind the scenes is characterized by a profound sense of stagnation and disappointment. Despite his comfortable salary and growing public profile, he feels disconnected from his own existence, overshadowed by the intellectual success of his Pulitzer Prize-winning father and struggling to find his footing after a painful separation from his wife. As he navigates the frigid, gray landscape of a Midwestern winter, David begins to grapple with the crushing weight of his own perceived mediocrity and the difficulty of maintaining a bond with his two children. He finds himself stuck in a cyclical existence where he is constantly searching for a sense of purpose and validation, unsure if true professional achievement or personal fulfillment can ever coexist. The film explores the mundane frustrations and quiet anxieties of middle age, following David as he attempts to reconcile his fractured family relationships and navigate the existential dread of being a man who can predict the atmospheric conditions for millions of people, yet remains utterly incapable of forecasting his own emotional future.
