Martin Blank is a professional hitman experiencing a mid-life crisis of sorts, feeling the growing weight of his lethal career choices. When he declines an invitation from a rival assassin to form a professional union, he inadvertently makes himself a target for other operatives in his shadowy industry. Seeking counsel from his eccentric assistant and an anxiety-ridden psychiatrist, Martin decides to clear his head by traveling to his hometown of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, under the pretense of attending his ten-year high school reunion. Upon his arrival, he is immediately confronted with the stark contrast between his clandestine life of violence and the mundane suburban memories of his past. The situation becomes increasingly complicated when he crosses paths with Debi Newberry, the former high school sweetheart whom he abruptly abandoned on their prom night a decade earlier. As he attempts to navigate awkward social reunions, avoid his professional pursuers, and confront the unfinished business of his youth, Martin must determine whether his past life and his present identity can ever truly be reconciled in a world where he is constantly looking over his shoulder.
