Seven years after the tragic loss of his wife, Shigeharu Aoyama continues to struggle with the loneliness of raising his son in solitude. Encouraged by his teenage son to seek a new partner, Shigeharu finds an unconventional path forward when a close colleague proposes a deceptive plan. Utilizing their influence within the film industry, they organize a fake casting call for a non-existent production, using the audition process as an elaborate method for Shigeharu to screen potential romantic prospects. Among the many hopeful applicants, he finds himself immediately captivated by Asami Yamasaki, a former ballerina whose soft-spoken demeanor and graceful presence seem to align perfectly with his desires. As their relationship begins to blossom, Shigeharu finds himself growing increasingly enchanted by her enigmatic nature, blind to the growing unease expressed by his friends.
