Evil lives within you
About
Mia Medina, an aspiring filmmaker, decides to center her latest documentary project on a woman named Deborah Logan, who is currently navigating the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Seeking to capture the raw, unfiltered reality of a family living under the shadow of this devastating condition, Mia embeds herself within Deborah’s rural home alongside her camera crew. Deborah’s daughter, Sarah, serves as the primary caregiver and is initially grateful for the financial assistance the film project provides, hoping it will allow them to maintain their residence despite the mounting challenges of her mother’s decline. As the cameras document the daily routine, the documentary begins as a heartfelt observation of the strains placed on the mother-daughter bond. However, the tone shifts dramatically when Deborah begins to exhibit erratic, unexplainable behaviors that transcend the typical clinical markers of cognitive decline. What was supposed to be a compassionate study of aging soon spirals into a suffocating nightmare as the household is besieged by bizarre occurrences and a growing, palpable sense of dread. Mia and her crew find themselves increasingly trapped in an escalating state of panic, forced to confront the terrifying possibility that the malice encroaching upon the home is far more sinister than any medical diagnosis could ever explain. As the boundary between mental deterioration and an external, encroaching terror dissolves, the survivors must struggle to retain their grip on reality while facing a force that defies rational comprehension.
