In the sprawling, vibrant metropolis of 1947 Los Angeles, a unique segregation exists between humans and the animated residents of Toontown. Eddie Valiant, a cynical and down-on-his-luck private investigator, is reluctantly pulled into the bizarre world of cartoons when he is hired by a major film studio to document the supposed infidelity of Roger Rabbit, a frantic cartoon star who fears his sultry wife, Jessica, is being unfaithful. While the investigation begins as a standard case of domestic suspicion, the situation spirals into a dangerous conspiracy when a prominent local businessman is found murdered. With all evidence pointing toward Roger, the rabbit finds himself as the prime suspect in a high-stakes crime.
