Robert Mark Kamen (born October 9, 1947) is an American screenwriter whose career spans decades, with writing credits for major action, crime, and thriller films. Originally from the Bronx in New York City, he became a go-to collaborator for stories built around high-stakes set pieces, fast momentum, and grounded character stakes. Kamen is especially well known for his work with action franchises and globally recognizable genre properties, including writing credits on Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2015), as well as The Transporter (2002) and Transporter 3 (2008). His filmography also includes the martial-arts and adventure revival The Karate Kid (2010), the stylish action thriller Colombiana (2011), and Brick Mansions (2014). He has also worked in large-scale contemporary action, including Angel Has Fallen (2019). Kamen is one of the key collaborators associated with French filmmaker Luc Besson, contributing screenwriting to the cross-Atlantic sensibility that helped shape much of modern European-influenced action cinema.
