
Cinco Paul (born May 5, 1964) is a film and television writer-producer whose work spans animated comedy, family entertainment, and broad, pop-culture–ready storytelling. He has written for major studio franchises and character-driven adventures, contributing dialogue and story ideas for films such as Despicable Me (2010), Hop (2011), and Horton Hears a Who! (2008), where humor and heart play central roles. Paul also helped shape the global reach of the Illumination universe through his writing work on The Lorax (2012), and he served as a producer for The Lorax. Earlier in his career, he wrote for live-action comedy as well, including The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000). Across his filmography, he is known for crafting fast-moving, joke-forward scripts with clear emotional stakes, especially in projects designed for audiences of all ages.
