Peter Chung (born April 19, 1961) is a Korean American animator and director known for shaping visually distinctive, emotionally driven science fiction and stylized action storytelling in animation. Working across feature and television formats, he has built a reputation for sharp character design, kinetic movement, and a modern, graphic approach to motion that blends cinematic framing with experimental sensibilities. In the mid-2000s he contributed to The Animatrix (2003) as a director, applying his signature visual language to stories rooted in high-concept speculative worlds. Chung later became widely associated with creator and directorial work on Æon Flux, where his imaginative, dystopian tone and fluid character animation stood out, and on Reign: The Conqueror, extending his distinctive style to franchise-spanning adventure and mythic conflict.
