Raised in the shadow of unconventional parents—a former Hooters waitress and a washed-up professional wrestler—Margo finds herself at a precarious crossroads in her early twenties. After dropping out of college and adjusting to the overwhelming, life-altering reality of being a new mother, she discovers that her creative ambitions as a writer are quickly being eclipsed by a crushing, relentless mountain of debt. With few resources, limited professional experience, and the constant, ticking clock of financial ruin looming over her, she is forced to navigate the absurdity of adulthood in a world that offers very little margin for error. Margo must figure out how to provide for her child and sustain her own dreams while constantly searching for legal, and occasionally questionable, ways to keep her head above water. The series explores the grit and humor required to survive when every decision feels like a gamble and every day brings a new, urgent struggle to keep her precarious life from spiraling completely out of control.
